When you feel you need larger breasts you need to take into consideration the facts about the surgery before you go under the knife.  First, you will need to be prepared for your new look, both physically and mentally.  Breasts are beautiful and have a function, if you are of child bearing years, and you plan to breast feed, you may want to wait until you are finished having children to have the surgery done, because it depending on the style of implant you get, the incision can disrupt the flow of the milk ducts in the nipple.

Throughout history the breast has been a symbol of femininity and sexuality. If you are not happy with the size of your breasts, there is nothing to worry about.  Breast enlargement can restore your radiant appearance and improve your self-confidence.

Some of the procedure methods for breast augmentation surgery involve inframammary, periarolar, auxiliary (armpit), and umbilical (belly button).

With inframammary or in the fold under the breast, an incision, usually one to two inches long, is made in the fold in the shadow under the breast.  With this incision, a small pocket is made either behind the pectoral muscle or behind the breast.  The implant is then inserted into the pocket and inflated with saline.  The noticeable scar under the breast is the only disadvantage to this procedure.

Then there is the periarolar or when they make an incision around the lower border of the nipple or areola.  This type will interfere with breast feeding as it disrupts the milk ducts.  An incision is made at the margin of the pigmented portion of the nipple and the skin of the breast. There are pockets for the implant that can be made either behind the breast or behind the pectoral muscle. The breast implants are inserted, inflated, and adjusted for equilibrium among the breasts.

The auxiliary or armpit incision is where the support incision is made through a crease in the armpit.  The pocket for the breast implant can be made in front or behind the pectoral muscle for this incision as well.  There are no scars on the breasts as and advantage for this approach.

With the umbilical or belly button incision, it is a small incision made in the belly button.  Using a special instrument, a tunnel is made from the incision to behind each breast.  The breast implants are rolled up like cigars and passed up these tunnels. Then they are inflated, checked for unity, and the incision is closed.  The best advantage of this approach is the absence of scars on your breasts.  The only disadvantage of this method is the necessity to place the mammary prosthesis in front of the pectoral muscle in addition to behind the breast.

With these types of breast implants, they will be filled with saline.  The saline fill takes place through an incision most commonly placed at the bottom of the areola.

Breast enhancement surgery always involves risks, for example bleeding, infection, or implant failure.  Modern techniques of breast enhancement are carefully performed to minimize risks but cannot guarantee a perfect result every time.  If you feel that you need breast enlargements, you should consider all the risks and talk to your doctor in-depth about your surgery.
