Facial wrinkles are obvious signs of aging that can be removed or made less obvious through various cosmetic procedures. One of the upcoming and now getting popular methods is the Polaris laser treatment. The Polaris laser wrinkle treatment uses laser light, intense pulsed light (IPL) and radio waves to treat the affected areas of the face and provide a smooth texture to the skin. The combination of the three types of energies can also work upon the color, brown blotches and redness on the skin. The treatment is purely computer aided and can be customized according to the result required.

The Process

The computer controlled system of Polaris laser can allow the physician to manage the tissue tightening process in order to reduce the wrinkles and lines on the skin. The process begins by spraying a coolant on the skin to make it ready to absorb heat energy. The laser equipment is directed on the affected area and the light goes into the skin layer to reach the tissues below it. The heat from the laser allows the tissues to contract and produce wrinkle reduced collagen. The amount of heat is controlled by the physician.

Polaris laser treatment is a non-invasive method to remove wrinkles which does not require any incisions to be made or skin tissues to be damaged. The penetration of laser beams on the skin is kept at a lower capacity which will not harm the skin. However, one face to know about Polaris treatment is that the effects are not forever and can fade away with time because of the lower penetration capacity.

Side Effects & Recovery

Polaris wrinkle treatment will not cause any scarring, bruising or bleeding on the skin after the procedure is complete. The patient will feel a moderate level of pain during and after the treatment which can be minimized through appropriate medications. The whole process can take about 30 minutes to an hour depending on the area to be treated. Larger areas may require three to five sessions to achieve a flawless result.

There will be some swelling or redness on the treated area which can take a few days to completely vanish. The effect of the treatment can be visible in a few weeks and can take about 2 to 3 months to fully produce a smooth skin as the new collagen is formed. This effect can last for a few years and will fade gradually overtime.

Not many patients have suffered from complications after the treatment but people with sensitive skin can develop conditions like blistering, crusting or changes in the pigment color of the skin.

Who is it for?

This treatment is ideal for those who have moderate wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores or a rough skin due to sun damage. People having skin allergies, keloid scarring, dark skin, cold sores or are prone to developing skin cancer are not suitable candidates for the Polaris treatment. It is best to consult the medical history with the physician before going for the treatment.
